The SME will provide strategic guidance and expert consultation in facility planning, capital asset management, and safety compliance to improve VA healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation in facility infrastructure planning, management, and modernization strategies.
- Conduct market-based facility planning and build vs. buy analyses to optimize capital investments.
- Assess VA facility engineering and safety programs, identifying areas for improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis on facility-related risks and infrastructure challenges.
- Advise on capital asset management, environment of care (EOC) policies, and safety programs.
- Conduct facility condition assessments and evaluate safety risks across VA locations.
- Develop and recommend strategies for compliance with federal safety regulations and VA facility standards.
- Collaborate with VA leadership, facility managers, and engineering teams to enhance infrastructure resilience and operational efficiency.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in facility planning, infrastructure management, capital asset programs, and healthcare safety programs.
- Proven expertise in large government or integrated healthcare systems, including experience with VA facilities and programs.
- Extensive knowledge of capital asset infrastructure, facility condition assessments, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong background in environment of care (EOC) safety, safety risk assessments, and facility operations.
- Ability to perform data-driven analysis and provide strategic recommendations for facility investments and modernization.
- Military experience is a plus, particularly in facilities management, engineering, or safety programs.
- Lead high-impact projects aimed at enhancing VA healthcare infrastructure.
