The Laboratory Assistant receives and processes specimens and carries out basic laboratory procedures. Additionally, there are required clerical tasks such as greeting patients, informing them of the procedures, answering phones and emails, and maintaining records. Job Summary And Qualifications
The Laboratory Assistant receives and processes specimens and carries out basic laboratory procedures. Additionally, there are required clerical tasks such as greeting patients, informing them of the procedures, answering phones and emails, and maintaining records. What you will do in this role:
- You will accuratelyidentifyand label.
- You will prepare specimens for analysis and testing.
- You will unpack and route specimensto their respective staging areas.
- You will process all necessary paperworkforsubmittedspecimens.
- You will perform data entry of patient informationinan accurateandtimelymanner.
- Phlebotomy certification by ASCP and/or NCA highly desired
- One year experience in a medical laboratory or college course work in biological/chemical sciences or graduate of phlebotomy course preferred.
- Must have six (6) months current hospital phlebotomy experience
