Let’s get you certified and ready for duty! Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lifeguard to join the dynamic team at Longview and Lovell Community Center. Currently seeking candidates with weekday and weekend availability for a variety of shifts.
The Lifeguard is responsible for constant oversight of patrons, enforcing facility rules and regulations, preventing accidents and incidents, initiating and promoting good water safety habits, assisting in the operation and maintenance of the pool and aquatics areas, and acting immediately and appropriately to ensure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency, including providing emergency care and treatment as needed and appropriate.
Training and certification will be provided to qualified candidates selected for employment; no previous experience or lifeguard certification is required. The value of this package is over $350. Lifeguarding teaches you to stay calm in medical emergencies and builds confidence and communication skills. This is a fantastic position for someone interested in a future healthcare or first responder career.
Compensation: $13.95/hour.
Candidates must be at least 15 years of age and must be able to exhibit proficiency in swimming. Preferred candidates will have American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and valid basic First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification, though certification is not required and will be provided to employees upon hire.
