What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPED Life Skills position at Lee School?
LOCATION: Lee Elementary School
CONTRACT PERIOD: 180 days
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 elementary school endorsement
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in working with administrator, teachers, students, parents and staff
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively teach students with various academic and behavior needs
- Ability to informally and formally assess learning and / or behavioral needs of students
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work under the direction of the building principal
- Provide instruction as determined in the students’ IEPs
- Implementation of district’s adopted special education curriculum
- Participate in the development of comprehensive Individual Education Plans for identified students
- Implementation and assessment of students’ IEP goals
- Implement progress monitoring and data collection as determined through IEP
- Provide information to parents relative to strategies that can be used at home to support the school’s effort
