The Carpentry Instructor will share industry experience and educational knowledge with both middle and high school students by leading project-based learning, and teaching job readiness skills.
Essential Duties:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver carpentry lessons to club members, ensuring activities are age appropriate and safe.
- Teach basic to intermediate carpentry skills, including the use of hand tools, power tools, measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing.
- Monitor and supervise members to ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Provide guidance and support to members, helping them to complete individual and group projects.
Qualifications:
- Strong ability to mentor and inspire youth.
- Experience in teaching/training basic carpentry skills.
- Commitment to promoting safety, quality, and a positive environment
Position Requirements:
- Vocational Certification in carpentry or related field
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- Pass pre-employment background screening and drug test
- The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 10 lbs.
