Leech Industries is seeking an Accounting Specialist/Accountant to join our Accounting Team. The position will work directly with the Controller to ensure accurate and timely reporting and assist with month end and year end close processes.

Position Overview
- Maintain the chart of accounts.
- Understand accounting principles (including debits, credits, depreciation, accruals, etc.)
- Process and enter accounts receivables and payables on a timely basis.
i. Prepare all bank deposits.
ii. Assist in collections and achieving 35-day DSO (days sales outstanding).
iii. Process and send invoices daily.
iv. Coordinate with the Controller to cut checks and pay accounts payable.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciliation of accounts, booking accruals, booking journals, and other accounting duties, as needed.
- Serve as a backup to the Controller for payroll review, and other duties, as assigned.
- Assist in the preparation of the yearly budget and monitor any variances from the projected budget to report to management.
- Maintain compliance with all accounting regulations.
- Administrative duties including receiving and sorting incoming mail, answering incoming calls, providing general support to visitors.
- Additional duties, as assigned.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing setting, in lieu of degree.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Experience in one or more ERP/MRP systems.
· Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word, Spreadsheet Server, as well as other statistical analysis software tools.
· High degree of accuracy
· Great attention to detail
