Position Summary
Job Description: As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, guests, building facilities, grounds, and all other property belonging to Leech Lake Gaming or its guests. Your primary objective is to protect our assets and maintain a secure environment.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include:
1. Protecting property against theft, vandalism, fire, and illegal entry by following proper procedures as determined by the Security Manager.
2. Conducting periodic patrols of buildings and grounds to identify and address any potential security risks.
3. Reporting mechanical failures to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
4. Monitoring and reporting any irregularities that may occur during your shift.
5. Documenting incidents and providing reports to the Security Manager on a daily basis.
6. Providing escorts to guests to ensure their safety when requested.
7. Coordinating the secure transfer of monies to and from the vault room.
8. Witnessing and assisting with money counting procedures, including working with the Head Cashier, Bookkeeper, and other designated personnel.
9. Maintaining access to the vault room, safe, alarm systems, and limited-access areas to ensure the protection of assets.
10. Documenting and reporting all pertinent information to the Security Manager.
11. Testifying in court or other official hearings as required by proper officials.
12. Responding to medical emergencies and providing assistance when needed.
13. Adhering to and upholding the Security Policy & Procedures established by the Security Manager.
14. Staying informed about events within the property and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
15. Attending mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
16. Demonstrating sensitivity towards Native American culture and respecting tribal traditions.
17. Operating within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual, Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
18. Securing the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
19. Performing other duties as assigned by management.

4. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires physical stamina to remain on your feet for extended periods, as well as the ability to work in a smoking environment.
Education and Skills:
A high school graduate or equivalent (GED) is required, with six months to one year of related experience preferred. You should also possess computer skills and meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements. A background check and drug testing are mandatory. Additionally, you must have or be willing to acquire CPR certifications.
