Accounting Specialist
Location: Tampa FL

We are partnering with an organization who is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Specialist. This role involves managing general ledger activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and supporting compliance and fund operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Fund and Entity Management:
- Maintain general ledgers for multiple entities, including posting cash receipts, disbursements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Review and reconcile bank and brokerage accounts, resolving discrepancies independently.
- Prepare and verify standard financial statements for managed entities on a monthly basis.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial information across reporting systems, such as the general ledger, Excel, and organizational documents.
- Maintain comprehensive record-keeping for all entities, including organizational and transaction documentation.
- Oversee and finalize monthly draw reconciliations for real estate project management.
Compliance and Collaboration:
- Work with third-party compliance personnel to complete necessary SEC and FINRA reports.
- Collaborate with fund administrators to:
- Ensure accuracy in fund reporting in line with GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Review expense allocations, management fee calculations, and net asset value calculations.
- Facilitate capital calls and distributions, including calculations and notices to investors.
- Review quarterly financial statements and investor capital statements.
- Complete investment subscription documentation.
General Responsibilities:
- Assist third-party auditors and valuation experts by preparing information packages and supporting related activities.
- Manage junior team members to accomplish tasks efficiently.
- Handle ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Master’s degree or CPA eligibility preferred.
- At least 1 year of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong expertise in Excel.
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct and iPaladin is a plus.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and organizational skills.
- Initiative to propose new ideas and improve existing processes.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
