Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Billing and Collection Specialist with a background in law firm operations to manage billing processes, ensure timely collections, and maintain accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities:
- Billing Management: Prepare, review, and distribute client invoices, ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines and legal fee structures.
- Collections: Monitor accounts receivable, follow up with clients on outstanding balances, and implement effective strategies to minimize overdue accounts.
- Client Communication: Collaborate with attorneys and clients to resolve billing discrepancies, answer inquiries, and provide detailed billing statements.
- Timekeeping Oversight: Ensure accurate time and expense entries are recorded and reflected in client invoices.
- Reporting: Generate and maintain billing and collections reports, providing insights on receivables and collection status to management.
- System Maintenance: Utilize billing software (e.g., Elite, Aderant, or similar platforms) to manage billing processes and ensure data accuracy.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to firm policies, client agreements, and regulatory requirements in all billing and collections activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in billing and collections, with a focus on law firm operations.
- Proficiency in legal billing software (e.g., Elite, Aderant, or similar) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle high-volume billing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with attorneys, clients, and stakeholders effectively.
- Familiarity with e-billing portals and client-specific billing requirements is a plus.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
