Construction Estimator
Location: Louisville Kentucky
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Estimator, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate project cost assessments and competitive proposals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Bid Preparation: Analyze bid documents to ensure compliance with all requirements, including bonding, insurance, and wage regulations, and prepare competitive proposals.
- Scope of Work Evaluation: Review project specifications and drawings to define the complete scope of work, estimating material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Utilizing Historical Data: Leverage data from previous projects to enhance estimate accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed project cost estimates, including material quantities, labor hours, unit prices, and other relevant components.
- Design Recommendations: Provide insights and recommendations on design alternatives to optimize cost, quality, and material availability.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with project teams to support negotiations, change orders, and project management by offering technical expertise and detailed cost breakdowns.
- Final Estimate Review: Ensure the accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance of all final estimates prior to submission.
- Client & Management Engagement: Collaborate with project managers and clients to deliver clear, professional pre-qualification and bid presentations.
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field is required. Advanced training in management or technical disciplines is a plus.
- Significant experience in construction estimating for large-scale facility projects is essential.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in estimating processes, project management, and construction methodologies.
Organizational & Communication Skills:
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent supervisory skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
