Our client is seeking an exceptional candidate to join their expanding Data Engineering team. This position will be responsible for managing our data repositories, ensuring scalability, optimization, and maximizing the potential of our informational assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creation, maintenance, versioning, and ownership of all database schema elements
- Performance assessment and real-time monitoring to identify areas for optimization (disk management, CPU usage, memory pressure, I/O bottlenecks, etc.)
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in database implementation, query optimization, and SQL development
- Oversee technical aspects of data governance, provisioning, and integrity
- Manage cloud data infrastructure and recommend best practices
- Renormalize data for optimal mining and machine learning processes
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures, including development datasets
- Transfer database information to integrated mobile devices
- Collaborate on the application of OS and software upgrades/service packs
- Recommend and utilize native and third-party tools for efficient administration
- Configure MS SQL Server for production, pre-production, and non-production environments, implementing industry best practices and optimizations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 4 years of experience as an SQL DBA, with solid knowledge of MS SQL Server architecture
- Experience with Active Directory access control administration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with HIPAA/HITECH regulations and healthcare security practices
- Experience with data reporting tools such as Power BI
- Experience with ETL processing tools, preferably GLUE and SSIS
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including S3 and EC2
- Experience administering AWS-based SQL Server (RDS) databases
