Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Forensic Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, with expertise in conducting thorough investigations into financial discrepancies and fraud. This role requires the ability to analyze complex financial data, prepare detailed reports, and provide expert testimony when necessary. The Forensic Accountant will work closely with legal teams, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial assessments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive cash flow analysis to identify irregularities or discrepancies.
- Review and interpret wills, trusts, and estate law as it pertains to financial matters.
- Analyze Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transactions for compliance and accuracy.
- Manage accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation to verify the accuracy of financial statements.
- Execute financial auditing procedures to assess the integrity of financial information.
- Develop and monitor budgets to ensure compliance with organizational goals.
- Apply governmental accounting principles in all relevant analyses and reports.
- Provide financial management support by advising on best practices and compliance issues.
- Utilize PeopleSoft software for data management, reporting, and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CFE certification preferred.
- Proven experience in forensic accounting
- Proficient in cash flow analysis, budgeting, financial auditing, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Experienced with VLOOKUPS and Pivots, heavy reconciliation (bank and cash/POS)
