Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with strong litigation experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys by managing case files, drafting legal documents, and coordinating litigation activities. This role requires a thorough understanding of legal procedures and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating court appearances.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Conduct legal research and compile information relevant to ongoing cases.
- Coordinate and manage communication with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Assist with the preparation of trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Monitor case deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Manage and process incoming and outgoing correspondence related to litigation cases.
- Support the billing process by tracking attorney time and preparing invoices as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience as a legal assistant, with a strong focus on litigation.
- Familiarity with litigation processes, including document management, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and legal case management software.
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
