Duties
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case preparation.
- Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Assist in the organization and management of case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and maintained.
- Perform data entry tasks related to case management systems and maintain accurate records.
- Provide executive administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information for cases, particularly in areas such as estate planning and patent law.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to ethical standards in the legal profession.
Experience
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a law office environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Familiarity with clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and document management.
- Knowledge of estate planning or patent law is a plus but not mandatory.
