Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees. The Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with governmental regulations and internal policies.
Duties
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Manage debits and credits related to payroll transactions, ensuring correct entries in the accounting software.
- Conduct data entry tasks related to employee information, payroll adjustments, and tax documentation.
- Utilize Workday or similar payroll systems for processing payroll and maintaining employee records.
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements, including tax filings and reporting obligations.
- Support the finance team with various accounting tasks as needed, including 10 key typing for data entry purposes.
Skills
- Proficient in accounting software with experience in payroll processing systems.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits as they relate to payroll functions.
- Excellent 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
- Knowledge of account reconciliation processes and general ledger reconciliation techniques.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and tax regulations is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
