What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Development Accountant position at Leeds Professional Resources?
Core Responsibilities:
• Real Estate Development Projects and Affiliated Companies
• Oversee the financial reporting cycle for the real estate development projects, the Company and the affiliated entities
• Maintain general ledgers including posting revenues, expenses, cash receipts, disbursements, accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Review bank/brokerage accounting reconciliations and work independently to resolve any discrepancies.
• Review standard financial statements for entities under management on a monthly basis
• Review and finalize financial information between reporting systems (general ledger, Excel, and organizational documents)
• Maintain record keeping for all entities including organizational and transaction documents
• Review pay apps and ensure processing with clients
• Review monthly draw reconciliations for real estate projects and communicate with owners
• Review and finalize monthly invoicing for professional services
• Compilation of tax documents to provide to third party tax preparer
• Assist with financial reviews and annual budgeting process
• Review information packages for and assist third party auditors, tax preparers and valuation experts with work related to all entities
• Assist team members with other tasks or duties as requested or assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting
• CPA required. (Candidates nearing completion will be considered)
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on Excel
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct and iPaladin is preferred
• Ability to become proficient in new software quickly
• Desire to work in a small collegial environment
• Ability to self-motivate and manage multiple tasks and projects
• A team player who can contribute to the team’s success during busy periods and downtime equally
• Highly detailed and data-oriented with solid critical thinking, organizational and analytical skills
• Comfortable taking the initiative and suggesting new ideas, processes, improvements, etc.
• Communicates effectively with internal and external parties
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all Company matters
• Ability to travel up to 10% of working time
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
