Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax strategy, planning, and compliance for a large publicly traded firm. The Tax Manager will oversee federal, state, and international tax compliance, provide guidance on tax accounting and reporting, and collaborate closely with senior management to support business objectives. This role requires a strong background in corporate tax, experience with SEC reporting, and the ability to manage complex tax issues for a large organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Manage and oversee all tax filings, including federal, state, and international returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions in compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position, identifying opportunities for savings and planning for tax implications of business decisions.
- Tax Accounting & Reporting: Lead the preparation of tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and other relevant disclosures in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements for quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Audit & Risk Management: Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and tax authorities, handling audits, managing tax risks, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, and operations teams to assess the tax impact of transactions, restructuring, and other strategic initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Develop and refine tax processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance, leveraging technology where appropriate.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the tax team, fostering professional growth and maintaining a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred).
- Minimum of 4-7 years of corporate tax experience, with at least 2-4 years in a management role, ideally within a publicly traded company.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and international tax laws, as well as SEC tax reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced skills in Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Salary : $110,000 - $135,000
