Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Linux Systems Administrator to join our on-site IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux or Unix systems, be comfortable with the configuration of Apache or related web services and have the ability to write scripts in an administrative language.
This position is required to be on-site at our Coralville, Iowa office, with opportunities for work hour flexibility.
What You’ll Do:
- Deploy and maintain a Linux user environment for Leepfrog staff
- Install, configure, and maintain server environments for hosting the CourseLeaf software suite
- Monitor system performance and perform periodic performance reporting in a timely manner
- Deploy and support services using cloud and virtual services environments such as AWS and VMware
- Implement security measures to protect systems and data from outside threats
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for after-hours support
What you MUST HAVE:
- 2 years of proven experience as a Linux Systems Administrator or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals
- Scripting skills in bash, python and/or Ansible
- Experience with Linux server software such as Apache, BIND, Postfix, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
What would be helpful:
- Experience and/or certification in Cloud services such as AWS
- RHEL systems administration experience
- Prior knowledge and experience in database administration, disaster recovery systems, network administration, and high availability environments
