What are the responsibilities and job description for the Refrigeration Engineer position at Leer Inc.?
Job Description:
The Refrigeration Engineer will be responsible for designing, validation testing, and troubleshooting small auto-defrost and cold-wall refrigeration systems for reach-in coolers, freezers, and ice merchandising equipment to meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead new product design, development, and validation testing of small refrigeration systems optimized for safety, performance, reliability, cost, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with prototype system builds and preparation for manufacturing production.
- Facilitate refrigeration test laboratory equipment operation, calibration, and updates.
- Handle technical customer support for customers when first level customer support is unable to satisfy the client.
- Willingness to share knowledge and lead training of production employees on refrigeration assembly, evacuation, charging, testing, and troubleshooting processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field with minimum five years’ experience in refrigeration system design preferred or Associates Degree in HVACR related field with minimum ten years’ experience in refrigeration test and development.
- Working knowledge of commercial refrigeration related regulatory safety and performance compliance including Underwriters (UL), Department of Energy (DOE), National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), etc.
- Electro-Mechanical design experience is preferred.
