Title: Assistant Men’s Soccer CoachDepartment: AthleticsReports to: Head Men’s Soccer CoachCategory: Full-time, 12-monthSummary/ObjectiveReporting to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach, the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in meeting the goals of guiding and building an elite-level NCAA Division II program. This requires the promotion of academic achievement and character of the student-athlete, fans, and the overall College community. The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach will be responsible for the implementation and coaching of a full developmental team, individual player development, recruiting coordination for the entire program, game day preparation, opponent scouting, academic monitoring, and on-field coaching during practices. A focus on recruitment and retention of student-athletes, game preparation, generation of net tuition revenue, and meticulous budget management are essential for this position. The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach must abide by NCAA, Conference Carolinas, and Title IX regulations. Essential FunctionsAssist the Head Coach in the day-to-day operations which includes preparation, organization and implementation of effective practice schedules, off-season programs and in-game coachingEvaluation and recruitment of elite prospective student-athletesGame preparationTraining and development all student-athletes with a focus on goalkeepingMonitoring student-athletes’ academic progress and growth as a personAbility to participate and lead in practice and drillsIndividual workouts, conditioning, and strength training with playersDirection, instruction and assistance with summer soccer campsGame film study and preparationGame day meal planning and organizationTravel coordination for away competitions Investment in lives and growth of student-athletesAssisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluationServe as head coach of the developmental teamConduct developmental team workouts and practices on a consistent basisSchedule all games and arrange all travel for developmental team Other administrative duties as assigned. Coach can be outside for team activities and extra skill sessions. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position that will require evening and weekend work. Days and hours of work will vary. Monday through Friday hours can be 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Frequent evening and weekend work is required for recruitment and game competitions. TravelExtensive day and overnight travel is required as needed. Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and a clean driving record.
