Optometric Administration Staff Job Summary
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet patients and other visitors when they arrive at front desk and check out areas
- Act as liaison and direct patients to appropriate office areas
- Distribute and review appropriate paperwork to patients and check demographics to ensure that required fields are completed properly
- Schedule appointments as needed
- Become familiar with vision and medical insurance companies and answer patient questions regarding insurance benefits
- Complete appropriate forms in order to prepare for patient’s appointments
- Post medical and vision charges correctly and collect payment from patients when needed
- Become familiar with the different modalities and brands of glasses and contact lenses
- Occasional adjusting and repairing of eyeglasses
Qualifications
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
Job Requirements
- One year experience preferred working as an administrative assistant or in a related medical office environment.
