Qualifications
1. Prior experience in school cafeteria or food service operations is preferred.
2. Be neat in personal appearance.
3. Must be 18 years of age and in good health.
4. Pass a physical examination prior to employment if requested.
5. Maintain positive relationship with staff, administration, students, and parents.
6. Be willing to work cooperatively with other cafeteria workers to complete all work assigned.
7. Be willing to work overtime for outside groups using the kitchen, if required.
8. A resident of the Leetonia Exempted Village School District is preferred.

Job Description:
1. Operates cash register quickly and efficiently. Performs daily cash handling procedures and meal accountability totals at lunch service.
2. Prepares and serves meals as assigned by Cafeteria Supervisor.
3. Organizes and sets up food counters and service steam table lines according to current day’s menu and layout.
4. Dates, labels, and properly stores food according to food storage charts and guidelines.
5. Checks menu and workload daily for necessary preparation.
6. Follows standardized recipes, tastes food and adjust seasoning as approved by Cafeteria Supervisor.
7. Maintains food preparation and dining area in a clean, neat orderly manner.
8. Assists other cooks with cafeteria production.
9. Reports food shortages, outdated items or any foods received in poor condition.
10. Operates and maintains equipment according to manufacturer’s listing and safety guidelines.
11. Completes routine cleaning according to cleaning schedules and as assigned by Supervisor.
12. Performs monthly inventory of all foods and prepares totals according to Cafeteria Supervisor.
13. Gathers, maintains and puts away all stock received on a daily basis using the FIFO rule.
14. Comply with all State and County Health chemical safety and fire safety regulations according to department policy.
15. Completes all other duties assigned by Cafeteria Supervisor and according to department policies and procedures.
16. Attends and participates in mandatory training.
17. Assists in dish washing and cleaning and maintenance of dish machine.
18. Be crossed trained in other positions within the cafeteria and be able to perform in additional capacities due to report offs.
