Summary
The Human Resources (HR) manager at LeFebvre Companies is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This position ensures compliance with federal and state employment regulations, supports workforce development, and promotes a positive company culture. The Human Resources (HR) manager works closely with the leadership team and employees to manage professional recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and policy implementation.
Responsibilities
- Professional Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for office and shop, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and new hire onboarding.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure timely placement of qualified candidates.
- Collaborate with recruiting and safety teams to support HR paperwork for orientation drivers during the onboarding process.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting company policies and values.
- Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate actions regarding employee issues and conflicts.
- Compliance & Policy Management:
- Ensure company compliance with federal, state (including Minnesota employment laws), and local labor regulations.
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Performance Management:
- Implement and maintain performance review processes, including goal setting and evaluation frameworks.
- Support managers in delivering performance feedback and developing improvement plans.
- Benefits Administration:
- Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Coordinate open enrollment processes and manage employee benefit inquiries.
- Training & Development:
- Identify and facilitate training programs to support employee growth and organizational development.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with legal standards.
- Prepare and submit required HR-related reports to management and external agencies as necessary.
- Unemployment & Workers’ Compensation:
- Manage workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, facilitating communication between employees, insurance providers, and legal teams, and maintaining accurate records of claims and resolutions.
- Manage unemployment claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing, and collaborate with state agencies and relevant departments to resolve issues and ensure compliance with unemployment regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of HR management experience, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Minnesota employment laws and federal labor regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other HR-related software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
