Position Purpose:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for managing the progress of new development products and assist in other functions of the company. These include implementing stable and robust manufacturing processes in the areas of metal forming, heat treatment, NDT and CNC machining. The Sr. MFE will oversee the creating and maintaining manufacturing work instructions with bills of materials, tool/fixture design, research & development projects as well as drive lean and cost reduction initiatives. The Sr. MFE is responsible for new product introduction and development of acceptable yields and cost effectiveness.
Summary of Duties:
· Drives new product introduction design and planning
· Assists in the development of manufacturing engineers in the creation of product planning documents, tooling design, milestone planning and execution
· Approves detailed operational instructions and support drawings for the manufacturing processes and multi-level bills of material
· Approves the design and manufacturing of support tooling needed for the manufacturing activities
· Determine process/equipment requirements for new processes or improve existing product manufacture
· Supports the develop new parts and processes to meet customer or marketing needs as required
· Interface with management of Engineering, Operations and Materials, either verbally or with written documentation and reports
· Work with Procurement to identify manufacturing and materials problems, identify causes and implement corrective measures
· Comprehend and follow customer drawings, specifications, parts list and other documents in planning operation sequences
· Assists in maintaining engineering systems and programs, such as polices and best practices
· Collaborates with Manufacturing and Quality functions update standard operating procedures to ensure products meet customer requirements and achieve operational efficiency
· Collaborates with Program Management for customers pertaining to technical communication and reports for the purpose of customers
· Assists quality assurance with processes audits including AS9100
· Provides engineering support for problem root cause and corrective action
· Participates in lean and continuous improvement initiatives
· Participates and researches in the processes of new technologies and improvements to manufacturing activities through capital improvements
· Six sigma and/or lean manufacturing knowledge
· Strong project management and analytical skills
· Knowledge of aerospace and ISO specifications and regulations
· Working knowledge of aerospace specifications, quality codes and standards
· Basic knowledge with developing manufacturing processes with correct BOMS and instructions that are time efficient, cost effective and safe. Knowledge of full life cycle of raw materials to finished products.

Experience, knowledge and skills:
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineering professional will possess at least 7 years of overall experience, within an engineering manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge from a metal based manufacturing environment using metal forming (swaging, flow forming, forging), heat treat, NDT and CNC machining 4 and 5-axis. Must be familiar with machining equipment (conventional and CNC Mills/Lathes)
Familiarity with Inventor and Master CAM/Vericut software would be helpful. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles including 6S concepts, VSM, SPC, Standard Work etc. is preferred

Background and Experience: The ideal candidate will possess the following:
· Education: BS or MS in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field
(Supervisory experience not necessary but preferred)
Salary Personnel work a 9-hour workday Monday through Friday (45 hour workweek)
Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
