Position Summary
The School Cafeteria Manager for MS Delta Academies ~ Leflore Legacy Academy will prepare and serve food in a school cafeteria environment. This position is full-time during the school year.
Competencies & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience working in a school cafeteria or other food services environment preferred.
- Ability to communicate with others and cooperate with coworkers to ensure a professional working environment.
- Growth mindset.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, carry objects of up to 40 pounds a minimum of three feet and a maximum of ninety feet.
- ServSafe Certification required or obtained within the first 90 days on the job.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and oversee food preparation and cooking activities to ensure all standards and procedures are followed properly.
- Supervise food service workers and cafeteria staff.
- Coordinate efforts with suppliers and vendors to ensure all required food items and supplies are delivered on time.
- Oversee food and supplies inventory on a regular basis.
- Develop food storage methods and ensure they are appropriately followed.
- Observe and report scholar food preferences to guide future menus and recipes.
- Oversee workers’ hygiene and sanitation practices to ensure constant delivery of safe and healthy food items.
- Coordinate with janitorial staff to ensure all dining and kitchen areas are cleaned and sanitized constantly.
