Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor residents' health, reporting any changes to the nursing staff promptly.
- Help residents maintain mobility by supporting safe transfers and encouraging physical activity.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting their mental well-being.
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Assist with meal service, including delivering trays and feeding residents when necessary.
- Follow all facility policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Kansas.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or senior living facility is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Manual dexterity to perform essential care tasks.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergencies.
- Tolerance for extended periods of physical activity during a shift.
