SUMMARY

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with potential and existing customers.
  • Originate, underwrite and close both secured and unsecured commercial loans.
  • Assist in consumer lending in accordance with established lending objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Possess a working knowledge of each of Legacy Banks products to be able to build full spectrum customers relationships.
  • Perform other tasks as appropriate for the benefit of Legacy Bank.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Call on potential customers wherever you find them and follow up on those contacts to build relationships that can turn into customers.
  • Interview applicants and obtain necessary information for loan applications; request appraisals, applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to evaluation of loan applications.
  • Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan; and correspond with or interview applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Compile loan packages and facilitate negotiation with applicants according to established standards, such as fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms; present completed loan application packages to loan committee for approval; ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy; assure timely loan closing and funding activities.
  • Utilize government programs when deemed necessary to meet customer's credit needs.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and information requests, and resolve complaints relating to loan products and services offered.
  • Work within a team atmosphere, and be willing to help others when needed.
  • Participate in loan servicing to insure timely collection of financial documents and items necessary to keep the loan file complete, current and in compliance with regulations, internal policies or procedures and required covenants.
  • Participate in collection procedures and processes to assure the timely collection of delinquent accounts and develop revised loan repayment terms or schedules as necessary.
  • Participate in the ongoing servicing of loans including:
    • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with businesses and other organizations to provide information regarding the lending programs and policies.
    • Participate in the Bank's business development activities by representing the Bank in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc., and promoting the Bank's favorable image.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops. Willingness to attend additional bank seminars and schools to continue to be abreast of changes in the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in the field of business, including specific courses in accounting, finance, and economics plus additional bank related training;
  • or five to six years banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS/REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and others both face-to-face and over the telephone.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to apply the concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Able to operate equipment such as a computer, smart phone, tablet device, copy machine, printer, and scanner.
  • Possess a working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and database software programs.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to be bonded by Banks surety company
  • Must be able to qualify for a credit-life insurance license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Position will require person to be stationary for periods of time in an office working at a desk.
  • Person will need to be able to move about inside an office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Position will be called upon to perform inspections as related to the job.
  • Position requires frequent travel outside of the bank to call on customers, attend networking events, etc.
  • Position may require some overnight travel and the ability to work before and/or after normal business hours.
