Job Description
Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) RN to join out ACT Team in Valdosta, Georgia. The ACT RN provides direct and indirect clinical nursing services the adult mental health and substance abuse consumers in an outpatient setting. Demonstrate basic nursing techniques and procedures following the established medical protocol. Works with medical staff, pharmacy, and clinical staff to ensure the highest coordination of services. Assess consumers for mental health and physical needs and fulfill all charting requirements. Must be able to learn and provide nursing services in accordance with various policies, including State of Georgia, CARF, etc. Also involved in teaching several illness management and health classes weekly. Communicates learning information in a clear, concise manner and elicits consumer’s participation in discussion. May also oversee LBHS consumers on med maintenance programs.

This position requires:
Must have a current Georgia RN license.
BSN preferred.
2 years minimum experience in psychiatric nursing, preferred.
Must be CPR and First Aid certified or to obtain certification. Must be physically able to perform CPR.
Must be proficient in verbal and written communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
Must be able to identify and report any adverse side effects of medication to the physician.
Must have excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
Individuals in this position must be able to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Travel: Individuals in this position will travel to all counties served within the region. Typically, this is done during the daytime but in responding to crisis situations, occasional nighttime travel is required.
