We are seeking a Residential Care Specialists (RCS) to work in our Residential program in Valdosta Georgia. Under the direct supervision of the Residential Site Manager, Residential Care Specialist provides services to consumers with a MH, SA or Dual Diagnosis in a 24/7 community based residential program.  Provide skills training and education on daily living skills such as budgeting, performing household chores, personal hygiene, social skills, and meal preparation.  Provide case management services such as linking to community resources.  Assist with transportation and observe consumers take medications as prescribed.  Monitor and document consumer progress in treatment using designated format and within established time frames. Computer knowledge and extensive documentation is required.  Incumbent must be able to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays. EAP services include legal assistance, financial consultations, access to work-life specialists, and up to 4 counseling session   This position requires: High school diploma/GED; required Associates degree in a relevant health or social service field, preferred Behavioral health experience preferred Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license with no more than 6 points; required Must be CPR and First Aid certified or able to pass a certification test after training Must have the physical ability to perform CPR Knowledge of body mechanics and the ability to safely move or transport persons being cared for; some of whom are obese Demonstrates excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in BHSGA or personal vehicle.  Work Environment: Employees in this position may be exposed to potential health hazards in the work environment. Incumbents may be required to work extended periods of time at computer terminals. They may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric and /or deceased patients.
