Job Description
The Transporter provides caring and responsible transportation for individuals Residential Services when there is no alternative transportation available. Transportation includes ensuring individuals to ensure that they will be connected to care provided in the community setting, assisting individuals to the vehicle as needed, transporting individuals to the bus station, medical hospital, their residence or any other designated location. While majority of individuals are independent with transfers and ambulation, some may require additional help to safely transfer in and out the car. Assisting individuals who are using wheelchair may also be required. Transporter will be using a company owned non-emergency medical transportation vehicle in LBHS 10 county service area, as well as other locations as directed. Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in LBHS vehicle.

- High school diploma/GED; required
- Must be 21 years of age, with a minimum of 1 year of uninterrupted driving experience
- Valid GA driver’s license required
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- Certified Peer Specialist and/or has lived experience is preferred, not required
- Previous health care experience is favorable
- Excellent emotional intelligence and communication skills
- Reliable time-management and punctuality
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and database systems
- Record keeping skills
- Clear understanding of boundaries
- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively in a diverse environment
- Attention to detail
- Ability to independently coordinate transportation with Individuals, BHCC and Outpatient Clinics, possesses flexibility, and professional attitude while performing duties with shifting demands and priorities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet the timelines
- Ability to provide safe environment for individuals and staff
