Job Description

Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to work in our Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC). Under general supervision of peer services and dedicated program, provides peer support services in the form of group facilitation and one-on-one peer support. Performs a wide range of tasks to assist peers in regaining control over their own lives and over their recovery process including advocacy, providing resources to connect with other peers, WRAP plan development, and use of lived experience and personal recovery story. Functions as a role model of maintaining recovery and ongoing utilization of wellness and recovery tools. Monitors peer progress towards treatment goals. Extensive documentation required; accurately charts services and peer progress. Participates in staffing / planning sessions and offers a Peer perspective on treatment.

Working Conditions :

Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and / or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in LBHS or personal vehicle.
