ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Legacy Charter School is a high-performing public charter school holistically educating 468 scholars in Kindergarten through 8th grade in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood. Our mission is to create an outstanding center for teaching and learning for children and their families that will recognize and nurture the full potential of every child, provide a foundation for a college education, and educate our scholars to be creative and critical thinkers and responsible citizens in school, at home, and in the broader community.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a full-time Dean of Culture and Climate who can help scholars meet their behavior goals, help scholars make positive choices by teaching social-emotional learning skills, and help build positive school culture.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ideal candidate will work with the Principal and the Behavior Team on the following:
BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT AND RESTORATIVE PRACTICES
- Train and monitor the implementation of school-wide behavior management systems
- Assist with challenging behaviors in the Reset Room on a daily basis
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to collectively problem-solve behavior issues in a timely manner
- Be actively present in classrooms and at lunch times to maintain the climate and culture of Legacy’s mission
- Use restorative and trauma-informed practices to address student misbehavior behavior
SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING
- Teach social-emotional learning lessons to address misbehavior’s root causes
SCHOOL CULTURE
- Assist with creating and executing ideas and events to build and maintain a positive school culture
- Help increase positive school culture by assisting with school culture goals rooted in the Legacy Anchors
- Remains consistent in displaying the expected culture and climate expectations
- Be an active member of the SEL and School Culture Team by training and observing teachers and students in all spaces, followed by prompt feedback
MTSS BEHAVIOR PROGRAM
- Work closely with scholars in Tier 2 and Tier 3 with behavior challenges and their families
- Work with teachers to execute behavior interventions that are aligned with restorative practices
- Be an active member of the MTSS Behavior Team
- Assist with creating innovative ideas to craft meaningful behavior plans

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the lunch program as needed
- Manage student’s cell phones and uniform needs
- Assist with making attendance calls for students that are absent
- Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with all scholars, staff members, and Legacy families, working in service of our scholars
- Maintains a consistent positive attitude rooted in the school’s mission
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Has experience working in a school setting, preferably in an urban school, for at least 2 years (in good standing)

COMPENSATION
Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience.
A competitive benefits package will also be offered.
Salary Range: $60,000 - 90,000
