CNC Programmer/Operator Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs for milling machines and other machining equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, precision measuring instruments, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for wood router and plasma cutter machines using CAM programming software.
- Set up, operate and perform routine maintenance of CNC machines, ensuring they function correctly and efficiently.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and coordinate measuring machines to ensure product specifications are met.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and improve machining processes.
- Apply mathematical concepts and geometry to solve programming challenges and enhance production accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to industry and manufacturing principles.
- Document all programming changes, setups, procedures and maintenance for future reference.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating router and plasma cutting machines and understanding of machining processes.
- Strong knowledge of CAM programming software and CNC machine operation.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments including calipers and coordinate measuring machines.
- Solid mathematical skills, particularly in geometry, to support programming tasks.
- Mechanical knowledge to understand machine capabilities and limitations effectively.
- Experience with manufacturing practices to optimize production efficiency.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
