Pediatrician Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Pediatrician to join our team at a large FQHC in a medically underserved community. The ideal candidate will be comfortable treating children and adolescents during evaluation, treatment, and management.
You will be responsible for performing assessments and providing treatment to clients of the clinic, meeting productivity requirements, and following clinical diagnostic and evidence-based treatment protocols. You will also need to remain available by phone during regularly scheduled hours and assist in the review and development of patient education material and practice guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessments and provide treatment to clients of the clinic
- Meet or exceed productivity requirements as set forth by the Medical Director of Pediatrics
- Follow clinical diagnostic and evidence-based treatment protocols for pediatric treatment
- Remain available by phone during regularly scheduled hours
- Assist in the review and development of patient education material and practice guidelines
- Provide supervision of health care students assigned to the clinic for educational purposes
- Develop and maintain a program for clinical quality assurance
- Supervise non-physician providers, including Licensed Therapists, Certified Nurse Practitioners, and Certified Physicians Assistants with respect to pediatric treatment
- Attend staff meetings and committees as directed and punctually
- Participate in the Performance Improvement Program
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend coverage for department
- Other Duties as assigned
Work Experience Requirements
- Possess an interest in working with newborns to adolescents
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred
- Uphold the Code of Ethics of their professional licensing entity
- Must complete the minimum hours of continuing education to maintain professional license
- Must maintain good standing with professional licensing board
- Must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to all populations served
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community, and the general public
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be proficient with all aspects of EMR
