What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Systems Technician position at Legacy Community Health?
Legacy Community Health is looking for a Pharmacy System Technician to join our team in our Central Full office which is located in Missouri City, Texas. The Pharmacy Systems Technician assists in the preparation, filling, and delivery of medications and other tasks associated with dispensing. Participates in ensuring that the daily operations of the pharmacy and quality checklists are met to minimize any interruptions in service. Establishes and executes oversight and technical support for all pharmacy applications with responsibility for routine quality and maintenance checks of all systems at the Central Fill location. Serve as a liaison between technology vendors, pharmacy, and the Legacy IT support group, as needed.
The ideal candidate should be able to answer pharmaceutical questions and display exceptional customer service skills. He/she must display compassion and understanding in addition to attention to detail and excellent administrative skills.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the application and technical integrity of the pharmacy systems to support safety and accuracy of the medication preparation/dispensing processes.
- Perform system reviews and assessments to validate system reliability as well as identification of opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Provide technical support to pharmacy team as needed.
- Respond to requests for issues associated with systems. Resolve when appropriate and/or report issues for vendor support when needed. Track the incidence of issues and time to resolution.
- Perform routine staff observations to validate knowledge and understanding of the workflow and system utilization.
- Establish and enforce methodologies and quality controls for maintaining integrity of the pharmacy. Provides recommendations to Pharmacy Leadership and Legacy IT leadership, as appropriate.

Requirements:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate
- Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
- Must be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities
- Must maintain BLS /CPR
- Must maintain required certifications
Required Years of Experience:
- Two (2) years of healthcare experience is required.
- Previous experience managing inventory and cash register/cash handling skills are required.
