Legacy Cooperative is a leading grain handling and agricultural/consumer retailer in North Central North Dakota. We operate from locations in Bisbee, Cando, Dunseith, Egeland, Overly, Perth, Rock Lake, Rolette, Rolla, and Wales North Dakota. Our services include Agronomy, Automotive Parts & Service, Convenience Stores, Energy, Farm/Ranch & Home, Lawn & Garden and Grain Handling.
Position Overview:
Legacy Cooperative has an exciting opportunity to work in our grain and agronomy divisions as a Truck Driver. This position will 1) transport grain from our satellite grain facility locations to our terminal and other terminals in the region, 2) transport fertilizer and other crop inputs between agronomy facilities and to on farm destinations and 3) may be required to assist in loading shuttle rail cars. This position will report to the Operations Manager. This position may be required to report to work at any Legacy Cooperative location depending on the business needs of Legacy Cooperative (employee is responsible for transportation to and from all report-to-work locations).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Pick up and deliver product in a safe, timely, and professional manner, ensuring the truck is operated in a safe manner at all times.
- Follow all guidelines and regulations for hauling, grain, feed, seed, fertilizer, petroleum, propane, anhydrous ammonia and other bulk liquid products.
- Perform visual inspection of truck before leaving premises and complete maintenance report on all deficiencies.
- Report all accidents, traffic violations, and damage to vehicles.
- Complete daily maintenance report and notify supervisor of any needed repairs.
- Manage all aspects of the load on your truck and be responsible for all shortages and damages unless visual observation of loading is not possible (in this case, note “shippers load and count on loading”).
- Maintain cleanliness of your truck both inside and out. Sweep trailers out after each use.
- Ensure on time loading and unloading and communicate and communicate any delays occur that may occur.
- Be available to load and/or unload your loads as needed.
- Assist in the warehouse when not delivering product.
- Ability to work additional hours to meet business needs.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Commercial driver’s license (Class A) or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- HAZMAT, Tanker and Air Brake endorsements or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Truck Driver.
- TWIC card-transportation worker identification card.
- Previous pressure trailer experience.
- Previous fork lift experience.
- Previous agricultural cooperative or agriculture related experience.
Required Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist or lift objects up to 75 pounds.
- The employee may be required to climb or be at elevated heights to inspect facilities.
