Job Summary
Legacy Dance Company is seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles and possess the ability to engage and inspire students of all ages. This role involves teaching dance classes, managing classroom dynamics, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and personal growth.
We are seeking an instructor who specializes in Contemporary/Modern, Acro and Hip-hop for our season beginning in the Summer of 2025.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons tailored to different skill levels and age groups.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a focused and respectful environment.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their dance techniques.
- Organize and prepare for performances, including choreography and rehearsal schedules.
- Collaborate with other instructors to develop comprehensive dance programs.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom space conducive to learning.
- Engage with parents and guardians regarding student progress and class activities.
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to create a positive learning atmosphere.
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques suitable for diverse student needs.
- Experience in adult education is a plus, enabling the instructor to teach various age groups effectively.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles to support younger students' learning processes.
- Expertise in acro, contemporary/modern or hip-hop styles with the ability to teach other dance styles as needed.
- Experience working with students in both individual and group settings.
- Skills in photography are beneficial for capturing class moments and performances.
- Familiarity with preschool education can enhance engagement with younger dancers.
