ABOUT US: Founded in 2020 by Mayra Martinez and Anthony Perez, Legacy Empowerment Services’ (LES) mission is to empower adults with disabilities to fulfill their potential & reach their goals by providing a wide array of services including skills training for daily living, appropriate social behavior, planning and coordinating recreational and leisure activities, employment supports and promotion of community awareness and involvement. Our team is diverse with invaluable experience as teachers, social workers, behaviorists, group home managers, support coordinators, job coaches, and parents of individuals with disabilities.
JOB TITLE: Instructor
REPORTS TO: Regional Supervisor
JOB OVERVIEW: We are a growing organization serving an increasing number of families throughout the state of New Jersey. We hire experienced professionals for a variety of part-time & full-time roles on a rotating basis throughout the year. Our ideal candidates have a passion for serving and impacting the lives of adults with disabilities and their families.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
· Responsible for providing direct support to assist participant(s) in daily routine, life skills & activities
· Assist participant in skill development to achieve stated goals and build independence as outlined in participant’s ISP and/or Face Sheet
· Ensure participant arrives to scheduled activities and appointments on time
· Assist with gross and/or fine motor skills including mobility issues as needed on uneven or unpaved walkways
· Document and submit activity reports within 24 hours of service(s) being provided in accordance with NJ State guidelines
· Punctuality, Professionalism & Reliability Are A Must!!
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Preferred experience supporting adults with intellectual/development disabilities, whether in a professional or personal setting (family member or friend)
· HS Diploma required. Some college or an Associate’s Degree (preferred)
· CPR Certification & Knowledge of First Aid (preferred)
· Experience with providing Mobility Supports (preferred)
· Positive attitude and service-oriented mindset—Solid Customer Service Background
· Strong Verbal and Written communication skills
· Bilingual Skills & Fluency in 2nd Language Welcomed (notably in Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese), Korean, Russian, Arabic, & ASL) (pre
· Valid state driver’s license & clean driving record
· Computer Skills—Knowledge and Proficiency with MS Office and Web based platforms a .
SALARY & COMPENSATION: Starting hourly rate is $23/hour
