CAD Technician

Legacy Engineering Group, PLLC has an immediate opening for a full-time CAD Technician to join our Design Team in San Antonio, Texas.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing 2D and 3D drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software to generate construction plans for transportation projects. This role involves collaborating with engineers, and other professionals to develop accurate technical drawings and plans that meet project specifications and industry standards.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Create, modify, and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on engineering specifications, sketches, and instructions.

· Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure designs meet project requirements and adhere to industry standards.

· Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams for construction projects, manufacturing processes, or other applications.

· Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and regulations.

· Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and related documentation.

· Utilize CAD software such as MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, or other relevant programs to produce technical drawings.

· Coordinate with team members and external stakeholders to clarify design requirements and resolve any issues related to drawings.

· Make necessary revisions to drawings as project needs evolve or as directed by engineers and project managers.

· Ensure all drawings and designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS / CAPABILITIES / CREDENTIALS

· High school diploma or equivalent is required.

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field is preferred.

· Certificate in CAD technology, drafting, or a related field is desired.

· Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., MicroStation, Bentley products) and familiarity with 2D and 3D drafting techniques is preferred.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address and resolve design-related issues.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
