YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Legacy Engineering Group is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Engineering Technician to join our Transportation Design team. In this role, you will support our engineers in the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in gathering data, preparing design plans, and ensuring that our transportation projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist engineers in the design and development of transportation PS&E projects for public and private clients which includes Roadway, Traffic Control Phasing, Retaining Walls, Drainage, Traffic Signals, Illumination, Signing & Pavement Markings, Traffic Management Systems, Storm Water Pollution Plan, Utilities, etc.
· Prepare and revise detailed engineering drawings, maps, and plans using design software such as MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
· Perform data collection and field measurements to support transportation design projects.
· Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate and effective design solutions.
· Assist in the preparation of design specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation.
· Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data and monitor project progress.
· Ensure that all designs comply with local, state, and federal standards and regulations.
· Support quality control processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of design documents.
· Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and support the timely completion of project tasks.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS / CAPABILITIES / CREDENTIALS
· Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred.
· 2 years of experience in transportation engineering or a similar role is preferred.
· Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer or similar tools.
· Basic understanding of transportation engineering principles and construction practices
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing engineering drawings and documentation.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
