YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Legacy Engineering Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Utility Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating utility relocations and ensuring that all utility-related aspects of our construction and engineering projects are handled efficiently and effectively. You will work closely with utility companies, contractors, and project managers to facilitate the smooth integration of utility services within project timelines.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate utility relocation efforts for various construction and engineering projects, ensuring compliance with project schedules and budgets.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and utility companies, facilitating communication and resolving issues.
- Review and interpret engineering plans to identify potential conflicts with existing utilities and propose solutions.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of utility coordination activities, including correspondence, agreements, and schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of the utility conflict matrix, utility conflict exhibits, utility agreements, permits, and documentation required for project approval and execution.
- Conduct site visits to monitor utility relocation progress and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that utility relocations are integrated into overall project timelines and objectives.
- Negotiate with utility companies to resolve conflicts and ensure the timely relocation or installation of utilities.
- Track and report on the status of utility coordination activities, providing updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Ensure that all utility coordination activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS / CAPABILITIES / CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in utility coordination, construction, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of utility systems and infrastructure, including water, sewer, gas, electric, and telecommunications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with utility companies, contractors, and project teams.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and specifications.
- Experience with utility permitting processes and regulations.
- Ability to conduct site visits and monitor project progress.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
