YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Legacy Engineering Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Utility Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and managing utility systems within various infrastructure projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, utility companies, and contractors, to ensure that utility systems are effectively integrated into project designs and executed according to plan.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop plans for utility systems, including water, sewer, gas, electric, and telecommunications, for infrastructure projects.
- Perform utility engineering analyses, including load calculations, system modeling, and capacity assessments, to ensure efficient and reliable utility service.
- Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate utility designs into overall project plans.
- Review and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contracts to identify potential utility conflicts and develop solutions.
- Develops the utility conflict matrix and utility conflict exhibits for transportation projects. Coordinate with utility companies to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and agreements for utility installations and relocations.
- Conduct field inspections and site visits to ensure utility installations comply with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and cost estimates for utility projects.
- Monitor project progress and manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely completion of utility work.
- Ensure all utility designs and installations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians involved in utility engineering projects.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS / CAPABILITIES / CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in utility engineering, utility coordination, or related areas.
- Strong understanding of utility systems and infrastructure, including water, sewer, gas, electric, and telecommunications.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in utility engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
