The Director of Operations (reports to the Division President) is responsible for the overall P&L of the operation and completing daily and weekly scheduling to ensure production within the plant(s) are being run efficiently. You will direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, finance, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities. This position ensures the usage of proper operating procedures, techniques, and safety measures. This position promotes and strengthens the plants continuous improvement initiatives to drive lean transformation and operational change.
Essential Job Tasks
- Develop, coach, and evaluate the production team’s performance
- Manage Plant P&L
- Provide direction, development, and leadership to production supervisors.
- Coordinate production schedule, shipping schedule, and personnel schedule.
- Participate in weekly meetings with customer service to manage new orders
- Recommend any equipment or standard procedural improvements that could increase productivity and efficiency.
- Manage production operations quality standards, initiate, and manage quality improvement.
- Ensure that the plant is properly staffed to meet production levels and goals.
- Ensure that production workflow meets company standards to maximize efficiencies in production operations.
- Analyze production operations and initiate corrective actions to counteract negative trends.
- Manage monthly production reports and prepare other various reports as required.
- Maintain shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience required
- Experience managing a P&L
- 5-8 years of experience in a related leadership position as a Plant Manager, Director of Operations, Vice President of Operations
- Experience within industrial manufacturing environments a must have
- Multi-site manufacturing management experience is a plus
- Any experience with 80/20, OPEX, or a lean business system is a plus
- Experience in a private equity backed company is a plus
