Grower Accountant

Role Summary: The Grower Accountant's responsibilities include monitoring inventory activity and coordination with sales desk to estimate, allocate and close grower pools in a timely and accurate manner.

To be successful as a Grower Accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain the grower accounting ledger and ensure that all supplemental workbooks balance to that ledger. An outstanding Grower Accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

· Management of grower pool accounting in a software (database) environment.

· Coordinating with other departments to verify accurate inventory balances of bins and packed boxes.

· Run monthly pool estimates to determine the value of owned fruit and allocations due to growers.

· Calculate the value of packing revenue per month as part of the financial closing process.

· Invoice and cash receipt orders from the sales desk as needed.

· Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.

· Responding to information requests from growers and field staff.

· Work with Controllers to gather information for annual audits.

· Coordinate with production or management staff on various projects as needed.

· Assist Grower Accounting Clerk in areas that need additional training or backup.

Required Education & Experience:

· 2 years of grower pool accounting experience or production line environment.

· Formal Accounting education is a plus.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

· Drug test & background check required.

Equipment/Technology Skills:

· Knowledge of computer software; Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.

· General office equipment, strong ability in typing

· Strong numeracy and analytical skills

· Good problem solving

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

· Ability to write, communicate, understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information in English.

· Ability to plan, organize, and carry out assignments from management staff with minimal direction.

· Ability to analyze situations, interpret data and make decisions that have moderate impact on immediate work unit.

· Ability to organize and prioritize job duties in an effective and timely manner, set priorities and meet critical deadlines.

· Ability to maintain accurate files and records.

· Physical requirements for this position include hearing, seeing, speaking, feeling, reaching, pinching, and repetitive motions.

· This position requires standing and walking for long periods of time.

· This position requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force in order to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
