Legacy Funeral Service Assistant Job Description
General Description:
If you are looking for a fulfilling position that will allow you to help and assist others during one of the most sensitive times in their lives, this is the perfect position for you. You will be assisting directors at services as needed. This is an on call position and is a great fit for someone that is retired or has open availability and wants something with no set hours but opportunities for extra pay. Your role will have direct contact with the living family and directors. There are no set hours for this position and will be paid per service worked and services are typically 3 hours long. Services will be scheduled and you will be notified typically at least 3 days in advance and may be on weekdays or weekends. Pay per service will be decided based on the chosen candidate.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting funeral directors with services off site
- Help load and unload caskets
- Must wear professional dress
- Help answer any questions at the service
- Display flowers
- Haul equipment
- If hired, employee must be willing to remove piercings and/or cover tattoos while working.
Minimum Requirements:
Education- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Must have transportation to our facilities. You will meet at one of our facilities and drive with the director to the service.
Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds
Must be able to work services as needed
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Excellent communication skills
