Position Overview:

We are seeking compassionate and skilled Substance Abuse Counselors to provide therapeutic support and guidance to clients in our 40-bed detox and residential program. Counselors play a critical role in facilitating recovery by leading individual and group therapy sessions, developing treatment plans, and ensuring clients receive the emotional and psychological support they need.

This is a full-time, onsite position with available schedules of Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions focused on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, and coping strategies

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team

• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed

• Facilitate psychoeducational groups on topics such as addiction, mental health, and life skills

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations

• Work closely with medical and case management teams to coordinate comprehensive care

• Educate clients and their families on the recovery process and available community resources

• Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA compliance while fostering a safe and supportive treatment environment

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required

• Certification or licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor (LADC, LMHC, LICSW, or equivalent) in Massachusetts is required

• Experience in substance abuse treatment or behavioral health settings is required

• Strong knowledge of addiction treatment models, counseling techniques, and relapse prevention strategies

• Ability to facilitate both individual and group counseling effectively

• Excellent communication, organizational, and crisis intervention skills

• Ability to work the assigned schedule of Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
