Recreational Therapist Orchard Villa

Job Summary   The Recreational Therapist will assess residents and lead appropriate recreational and therapeutic activities for our residents.  This role gives the opportunity to provide personalized, life enriching activities to residents with varying needs. The recreational therapist will communicate with residents, families, physicians and the nursing staff to help ensure each resident’s social, emotional and cognitive needs are met in meaningful ways. In this role, the recreational therapist will compassionately and meaningfully engage with residents. Job Responsibilities : Plan and lead meaningful individual and group activities that are engaging, life enriching and appropriate for residents  Complete documentation including recreation assessments, MDS 3.0, progress notes and care plans, to ensure recreation goals are appropriate and achieved Develop a monthly recreation calendar and monitor the effectiveness of programming through observation and evaluation; modify programs as needed Assist residents, together with nursing staff, in performing ADLs while encouraging them to maintain their highest level of independence Other duties as required Education and Experience Requirement Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or eligible to sit for exam PointClickCare experience preferred Excellent communication skills and attention to detail required   Why Legacy Health Services?
