With around-the-clock expertise for critical health issues, including experts in trauma, heart care, burns, significant wounds, stroke, brain surgery and more, Legacy Emanuel is central to the health of our community and critical to the care of the Northwest.ResponsibilitiesThe Unit Clerk participates with the health care team in delivering quality and customer focused health care to patients. Provides general clerical and receptionist services for a nursing or other work unit. Answers phones, relays messages to patients and to the appropriate staff, orders supplies and generally assists nursing and medical staff in clerical duties that support patient care. As appropriate to the position's scope of duties, the Unit Clerk is expected to have critical thinking skills, attention to details, time management, problem solving, and customer relations skills in a fast paced environment in order to meet patient needs and contribute to the positive care experience and work environment.QualificationsEducation : High school diploma or equivalent.Experience : Six months Unit Clerk experience preferred or equivalent office / clerical experience in a medical setting.Skills : Solid understanding of medical terminology strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work accurately. Solid communication skills required. Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and with other health care professionals. Excellent teamwork skills required.
