What are the responsibilities and job description for the Language Interpreter position at Legacy Health?
Overview
If you’ve ever felt nervous and uneasy while seeing a healthcare provider, imagine not speaking the same language and being unsure of what’s said or what you should do. With your translating skills and your compassion for others, you will put our non- or limited-English speaking patients and their families at ease. You will be their trusted liaison through the entire visit, from filling out forms to understanding medical diagnoses and procedures. As you build relationships with our patients, you will embody the Legacy mission of making life better for others.
Responsibilities
Provides interpreter services as a communication bridge between the non- or limited- English speaking patient and or family and health care provider and support staff in a variety of settings and locations as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma required.
- College level education preferred.
Experience:
- One year of experience as a medical interpreter.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Medical terminology.
- Demonstrated fluency in a designated foreign language.
- Positive interpersonal skills to handle diverse working situations.

Licensure
Licensure/Certification:
- Employees working in Oregon must be listed as a Qualified or Certified Health Care Interpreter by the Oregon Health Authority.
Pay Range
USD $23.65 - USD $33.80 /Hr.Salary : $24 - $34
