What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Director of Operations position at Legacy Healthcare Services, Inc?
We are looking for a Regional Director of Operations within the Tampa/Clearwater, Florida area. This position, directs and supports the implementation of
clinical service delivery, clinical program implementation and operational excellence in their assigned territory. Ensures departments are meeting budgeted
expectations through a strong focus on clinical training and programming, staffing model implementation and customer relationship management. Utilizes their
knowledge in reimbursement systems and rehab agency conditions of participation to ensure that Legacy clinics operate at the highest standard of both clinical
and operational excellence. Must be able to multitask and handle details across a broad spectrum of responsibilities. Supervises Area Rehab Directors for
assigned areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Interpersonal
- Sophisticated and effective communication with both facility/ community level and regional level customers through which the Regional Director of Operations (RDO) is viewed as a valuable
- Anticipates and proactively responds to the information needs of customers, rehab staff, and LHS management. Ensures that all messaging to or from LHS managers and staff reflects the company culture and follows LHS standardized protocols and procedures for operations
- Creates and fosters a customer relationship which solidifies customer retention at both community and regional level
- Communicates effectively and fluently with key management personnel of all assigned facilities and with LHS corporate personnel. Makes suggestions for improvement at every level, both to the employee and to LHS’s executive team. Represents the company’s best interests, contributes to corporate initiatives, and communicates the company directives in a positive, enthusiastic, professional way that promotes company culture and understanding of Legacy’s missions, vision, and values.
- Participates in high level growth strategy planning with business development to explore growth opportunities in their territory
- Regular communication with business development and active participation in new business sales calls as well as new business execution in the territory.
Fiscal Management
- Develops budgets for all assigned facilities in conjunction with finance and conveys the connection between clinical service delivery and financial outcomes.
- Able to educate others on all aspects of LHS budgets and assists in clinical and operational strategy planning to meet budgeted goals.
- Through clinical and operational excellence attains or exceeds budgeted goals and leads all direct reports to do the same.
- Thorough understanding of how the LHS productivity requirement is established and is able to communicate this and hold direct reports to the benchmark via clinical dialogue.
- Thorough understanding of the reimbursement system(s) that drives revenue for all assigned facilities, with ability to educate LHS employees and key customer personnel, at all assigned communities.
- Subject matter expert regarding the environment in which we provide services. Proficient at offering a variety of suggestions for how operational and clinical adjustments can affect revenue and expenses to meet budgeted goals.
- Uses all available Legacy clinical tools and training to establish baseline service requirements.
- Highly curious regarding service delivery improvement.
- Generates all activity reports as requested.
Clinical Management
- Treats patients when needed with in their region.
- Calls upon available Legacy resources to enhance facility admissions and clinical development at assigned sites.
- Encourages and customizes rehab programming that responds to current and changing needs of the resident population.
- Stays attuned to the overall clinical reach and robustness of services across the region and helps facilitate clinical training and implementation to address residents’ clinical needs.
- Responsible for quality assurance in assigned region along with accountability for implementation of clinical programming, orientation, and training.
Operational Management
- Ensures adherence to LHS policies, procedures, and processes; maintains consistency across the region that is in line with company standard protocols.
- Holds direct reports accountable and prepares follow up reporting regarding completion of required orientation, training, and clinical programming implementation for employees in their region.
- Ensures LHS standard orientation implementation and follow through in assigned region
- Offers creative ideas for internal and external marketing efforts for individual facilities and coordinates needs with LHS corporate office to ensure LHS branding is maintained on all material provided at the sites. Participation in large scale events in assigned region.
- Implements LHS value added services in accordance with the company’s expectations (LiveWell, health talks, etc.) and the community’s approval.
- Understands HH contract(s) details for any site(s) and ensures contracted terms are adhered to.
- Knowledgeable regarding all reimbursement sources and works to overcome service delivery obstacles with such. Partners with revenue cycle and finance department routinely.
- Uses appropriate Legacy channels to achieve desired results; keeps the Vice President well informed.
- Partners with the National Director of New Business Execution on the oversight of all start -ups in their region with the assistance of their direct reports and ensures their success by following Legacy’s established execution planner and start – up process.
- Participates in internal, external and community marketing efforts to increase Legacy’s brand name in the community and increase caseload in assigned buildings.
Human Resources Management
- Owns a culture of world class talent
- Responsible, in coordination with the Human Resources Department, for the recruitment, hiring, and retention of talent. When needed, follows all company guidelines on remediation and/or disciplinary action.
- In cooperation with the VP of Operations and/or the VP of Human Resources authorizes hiring and compensation decision outside of established company parameters.
- Oversees the efficacy of each assigned Multi-Site Manager and provides training and support as needed to ensure success
- Utilizes all essential divisions within the organization to accomplish successful operational and clinical service delivery by integrating their specific roles to meet regional and organizational objectives.
